Silverdale students celebrate A-level results
Students in Silverdale Sixth Form today celebrated some fantastic achievements as they became the first year group in two years to collect their A-level and Level 3 exam results having sat external summer exams.
The Year 13 students have faced incredible challenges as they have worked hard to develop their knowledge through Covid lockdowns, fluctuating infection rates and evolving approaches to enable them to access teaching. Silverdale students have emerged from this unprecedented period with a set of results of which they can be proud.
Highlights across Silverdale Sixth Form’s class of 2022 include a 99.6% pass rate with 90.5% of results achieving grades between A*-C. 51.7% of the grades awarded were A* or A with 24.4% achieving the highest grade possible: A*.
Students looking forward to an exciting next step include Nura Rabbi, who is heading to the University of Sheffield to study medicine, Safiya Zubair who heads to the University of Birmingham to study law and Krithicck Sivakumaar who will study medicine at University of Cambridge. They join many others who are moving on to a mixture of higher education and apprenticeships in a wide range of subjects including art, paramedical science, psychology, engineering, teaching, criminology, business and accounting.
Head of Silverdale School, Sarah Sims, said:
“Students deserve huge credit for the determination they have shown throughout what has been a very challenging period. Their hard work and fortitude has resulted in some exceptional individual success stories. We are proud of them all and wish them the best of luck in their undoubtedly bright futures.”
