Congratulations!

Congratulations to Kaiyuan Li for winning the Under 14 category of the ‘Sheffield Young Painter of the Year’ Award.

Well done and good luck to Grace Hartley (Y9) and Oenone Wirth (Y12) who have been selected as finalists for the National Poetry by Heart competition.  The finals will be held at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London in June.

Congratulations to our 30 Y12 students who completed their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award practice expedition last weekend.  They are now preparing for their assessed weekend in the Lake District in July.  Meanwhile we have over 100 Y9 students looking forward to their Bronze DofE practise and assessed expeditions this term.  Of course, this is all enabled by our staff volunteering to give their unpaid time and expertise to provide these opportunities for our students.

Clear the clutter and support our school!

Whether you're having a big clear-out or want your children to have a go at earning their own summer holiday spending money, the Silverdale PTA Car Boot Sale is here to help - and you'll be helping us in the process.  Once you've paid for your pitch, roll up with a carful and prepare to bargain and haggle all the way to the bank. Pitches are to be paid for in advance, will cost £10 and can be purchased here.

 

Entry for buyers on the day will be £1 per adult and 50p per child.

Food and drink will also be available.  Whether you're selling, bargain-hunting or both, there's something for all the family to enjoy.

 

Expansion Update

We have now started our consultation in relation to the proposed increase of our school capacity. Details are now on our school website for you to view here.

In summary, although we are in the early stages of this process, we hope everyone will share our excitement for this planned expansion. These plans will improve access to education at Silverdale for local families, many of which are disappointed to not secure a place at Silverdale each year under our current arrangements.

This is an initial communication to make our parents, carers, local community and stakeholders aware and gauge the level of support for the expansion.

Consultation begins on Monday 25^th April 2022 and ends on Tuesday 24^th May 2022 at noon.

We are open to hearing your views. If you do wish to make any comments please do so via the email provided at the bottom of the consultation page.
