Dear Parents and Carers...
Message from our Head Teacher
Dear Parents,
PTA news
On Thursday 16th December we will be playing a festive film for Year 7 students to enjoy directly after school. The film will be PG rated and entry will be a donation of £1.
Also on Thursday 16th December, we will be having a Festive Non-Uniform Day. Students can choose to come in either festive dress or just in normal clothes, whatever suits! Again, we ask that if students are taking part that they donate £1 each on their arrival at school.
We will be hosting an online cook-along with MasterChef’s Raheel Mirza on Tuesday 14th December that will be a twist on a festive classic. Learn how to prepare spiced tandoori roast chicken with Yorkshire puddings and a lightly spiced gravy for £6.00. Further details (and a link to buy tickets) will be shared early next week.
A date for your new year diaries! The PTA will also be holding a quiz night AGM in school on Wednesday 12th January starting at 6:30pm. More details will follow soon!
End of Term Arrangements
A reminder that school will finish at 3.15pm as normal on Friday 17th December.
Start of term arrangements
The DFE has requested that all students have an on-site Covid test at the start of next term. This means there will need to be a staggered start on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th January. We are currently working on the staffing needed to administer the tests and we will publish the testing and return to school schedule as soon as possible.
Changes to Pastoral and SENCO roles
Congratulations to Mr Clayton and Mr Dalrymple who have become Assistant Headteachers to provide SLT capacity whilst Mrs Hussain starts her maternity leave. Congratulations to Miss Shirtcliffe who has stepped into the role of KS3 Pastoral Leader and Mr Beevers who has secured our newly created deputy SENCO role.

The Sheffield Children's University Christmas Passport to Learning newsletter which includes details of activities happening across Sheffield during the Christmas holiday can be found here.
It’s packed with fun activities happening during the Christmas holidays – from STEM holiday clubs and Christmas crafts in the libraries, to football camps and the Brearley Bear Christmas Trail in the city centre! There are also links to our very own Sheffield CU home learning challenges too.

Covid Update
In the week 26th November to 3rd December, six students (two Y7, two Y9, two Y11) tested positive for Covid. In line with government guidance, we are requesting all students wear face coverings on the corridor unless they are exempt. Please remind your child to bring a face mask (preferably reusable) to school. Please also continue to remind our child to conduct twice-weekly LFD tests). The DfE has provided information for parents and carers about the recent changes in guidance.
Best wishes,
Sarah Sims
