Overview
English
Introduction
How can we use the best words to express ourselves? Why do stories captivate us? What are the big ideas that have fascinated people through these years? English isn’t one subject, it contains multitudes!
We are proud to teach English lessons that are meaningful, engaging and challenging; that prepare students for exam success, but also well beyond that, because we realise each student is unique and learning is life-long.

Curriculum
Course content
In our lessons students will explore a diversity of genres and forms in their reading and writing. In every year they will follow a course through novels, non-fiction, drama, poetry, and short stories, enriching their lives and developing the skills and knowledge they need to succeed at GCSE and A-level too.
Throughout everything, there is reading - each student's reading will expand their vocabulary and their mind! We know how important reading is in all school subjects, so we will be working with students in weekly homework to ensure their reading is accurate and strong.
