English Language and English Literature
Introduction
In English language you will develop your appreciation of how words work and your own skills as a communicator. In language paper 1 we will explore stories and how you can be creative and compelling in your own writing. In language paper 2 we are interested in non-fiction writers’ viewpoints and ways in which you can impress your views on others through persuasive writing.
In English literature you will study closely some of the best works in the English language; works by classic authors such as Shakespeare and Dickens as well as modern, diverse works from around the English-speaking world.
