Dear Parents and Carers...

Sarah Sims, Head of Silverdale School

A message from our head of school.

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back to a new school year and I hope your children have enjoyed their first few days at school.  Welcome to parents of Y7 and Y12 students who are new to the Silverdale family.

You have probably heard that our new building was open just in time for the start of term. There has also been significant building works in the existing building (including two additional science labs and a second drama studio) in order to provide additional specialist accommodation. Whilst there is still some work to complete, we are all enjoying the additional classrooms, offices and excellent facilities.

Our students have responded very well to the relaunch of our culture and expectations, which we are calling ‘The Silverdale Way’.

Car Parking

The barrier to the car park has been temporarily removed due to the building works.  Before it is replaced, please can I remind parents that they should not enter the car park to drop off or collect their children.

We request that parents do not drive on Bents Drive at the start and end of the school day.  We have an agreement with the Hammer and Pincers Pub that parents can use the car park free of charge for 10 minutes in order to drop off or pick up our students and parents can also use the ‘Park and Stride’ map to agree alternative pick up and drop off points. Thank you for your cooperation.

Change of SENCO

David Dalrymple is now an Assistant Headteacher at Silverdale and we welcome Joanne Brocklesby as our new SENCO.  Please ensure you email jbrocklesby@chorustrust.org.
