We are delighted that our PE department has been honoured with the John Moss Award - the secondary equivalent of the Primary Schools Sports Award - in the recent annual awards-giving by the Sheffield Federation for School Sports. Congratulations also go to our KS3 Badminton team which received a special award.

PE departments across the city are invited to nominate students and staff in various categories and an awards evening usually takes place at the Town Hall to celebrate the sporting successes. Due to the pandemic, last year was a very different school year and the usual event was not able to take place, however the SFSS officers wanted to acknowledge and celebrate school sport in Sheffield and acknowledge the sport which did take place prior to the pandemic and everything being halted.  

As well as serving all the students, our PE department has done a wonderful job of reminding us all to keep moving during the last year, from numerous at-home challenges on instagram to the fantastic Race Around the World which grew from a Silverdale-Westfield competition to a city-wide event. The Silverdale community is very grateful for all your encouragement and creativity and your willingness to lead by example when it comes to keeping us all moving during lockdown.
