Y8 vs Meadowhead

A strong performance from our Y8's who quickly went 2-0 up in the first half with goals from Jack Wilson and Charlie Duke. However, Meadowhead mounted a spirited fightback in second half and scored two good quality goals, earning them a fully deserved draw.

Y8 vs All Saints

A bit of a reality check for our Y8's tonight as they lost their first game in Silverdale colours since joining the school last year, being beaten by a strong All Saints team.

Great effort by All Saints who worked extremely hard as a team, were first to every ball and were clinical in front of goal.

Charlie Duke kept his goal-a-game routine up by scoring Silverdale's only goal of the game.

Lessons to be learnt for our team - no time to dwell on this result though as we look to get back to winning ways against Meadowhead next week.

Solid start to the season from the Y11 team, always a shame to give away a 2 goal lead but plenty of positives to take into the next game.

SFSS Y7 Cup Final vs Birley

Date: 24/03/18

Location: Warminster Road

Our Y7 team became Silverdales first SFSS football cup champions since 2011 with a fantastic and convincing 2-0 victory over a very strong Birley team.

Another 2 goals from Charlie Duke ensured it was Silverdale's name that was engraved on the cup, but every single member of the team performed exceptionally well.

Joe Endacott - Brave, determined, organised the team and performed an exceptional save from a free kick in the 2nd half to maintain the clean sheet he told me he was going to get, and that he so much wanted!

Fin Avgousti, Dan White and Spencer Gaffey - All rock solid at the back, covered for each other well and defended superbly. Won every header, 50/50 and individual battle. Outstanding!

George Henderson - Intelligent and mature performance as always. 100% the unsung hero of this team. Quietly performs exceptionally well every single game and this final was no different!

Jamie Howse - Relentless energy and appetite for the ball that continued to cause Birley issues in midfield. Played an important role in keeping their midfield quiet throughout the game.

Jack Wilson - The midfield general! A real leader and captained the team exceptionally well. An incredibly intelligent footballer that reads the game superbly well and was unlucky not to get the cup final goal that his unbelievable performance deserved with a brilliant free kick in the first half.

Noah Prasanto - Another superstar performance. Quick and skilful as ever and showed an outstanding attitude and will to win. Took some big tackles and kept getting back up and continued to drive our team forward. Outstanding from start to finish!

Louie Platt - A skilful and "big" presence in midfield / up front for this team. Holds up the ball superbly well, skilful and makes great decisions on the ball.

Charlie Duke - Another 2 goals from the goal machine!! He's scored 7 in his last 3 games and has also scored every goal this team has scored in the semi-final and final!! 

Todd Brown - Skilful and hard working. Came on in the second half to give us a bit more shape and attacking threat on the left hand side of midfield. 

Max Johnson - Strong, fast and powerful presence up front. Made a fantastic impact in the second half and very unlucky not to bag himself a cup final goal in the closing stages of the game.

Jack Smith - Energetic and combative when he came on in the second half. Sured up the right hand side of midfield. Has contributed outstandingly well this year as our "league" goalkeeper and in the early rounds of the cup. This cup win wouldn't have happened without him.

Y7 Football vs Notre Dame

Another outstanding performance tonight by our Y7's after being 1-0 down at half time for the second game running.

2 second half goals from Charlie Duke, a rocket from Jack Wilson and Louis Platt's first league goal in Silverdale colours got us the win in the end.

Man of the Match = George Henderson - Absoutely exceptional from start to finish. Read the game superbly well, rock solid influence at the back and composed on the ball.

Y7 Cup Semi-Final vs Forge Valley

Our Y7's maintained their perfect 100% winning record this season and beat a strong Forge Valley team to become the first Silverdale football team to reach an SFSS cup final in 7 years!!

Charlie Duke stole the headlines with a sensational second half hat-trick but every single player performed exceptionally well.

Dan White, Fin Avgousti and George Henderson were rock solid at the back.

Noah Prasanto, Jack Wilson, Max English, Jamie Howse and Jack Smith bossed the midfield.

Louie Platt, Todd Brown and Charlie Duke provided us with 3 great attacking options too!

Let's bring that cup home on Saturday 24th boys!!

Y11 vs Parkwood

A disapointing result in the end for our Y11 team.

Worked off the park by Parkwood right from the first whistle who thoroughly deserved the victory.

If a Kasib Razaq penalty and couple of chances for James Collings had gone in our favour then the result could have been a different story, it just wasn't to be for the Silverdale boys!
