The last two years have seen unprecedented challenges and disruptions to the students' learning. They have overcome lockdowns, moves to online teaching and illness to achieve the successes seen today.

The Year 11 students collectively achieved results of which they can be proud: 88.7% achieved grade 4 or better in English and maths – 87.6% with a grade 5 or better. 88.1% of the students have achieved at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including English and maths).

Many students have been delighted by their results, achieving above expectations in both GCSE and BTEC subjects. Six students opened their envelopes to find a full set of marks graded at the highest levels of 8 and 9. In addition, 11 students achieved the highest grade of Distinction* in at least one of the vocational subjects they studied.

Head of Silverdale School, Sarah Sims, said:

"It's been wonderful to watch our Year 11 students receive their results this year. We are proud of them all, and of the resilience they have shown in the last two years to achieve these results. Congratulations to all of the students who worked so hard! Our thanks also go to their families for supporting them through these trying times and to the Silverdale staff who – as ever - have worked with our students every step of the way.

"We are looking forward to welcoming many of the students back to Silverdale Sixth Form in September where they will take the next step in their education, as sixth formers.”
