Virtual Careers Fair for Year 10s upwards
As part of National Careers Week there is a virtual careers fair on Tuesday 2nd March from 2-5pm. This is to help students in Sheffield aged 15-25 to plan their next steps into employment, training or education so it will be useful for anyone from Y10 up. At Silverdale, all of last year's Y11s went on to further education or employment. 56% of our Y13 students who progressed to university went to a Russell Group university, 3 to Oxbridge and 1 to a music conservatoire and 6 students went to study medicine, 4 dentistry and 1 veterinary medicine. A number of our sixth formers choose to take gap years before further studies and have had jobs working in the NHS, school tutoring and working abroad.
There will be around 15 organisations offering learning or training to help you make the next steps, 30 Sheffield based employers helping to explain the different types of careers
across the key sectors in Sheffield, apprenticeship organisations and universities and higher education specialists, including or young people with SEND.
Further information about the event can be found in the attached document or you can register here.
