Student Wellbeing

Our students' wellbeing is our first priority during these unprecedented times.  We are aware that all students, and their current situations at home, are different and so they will have varying needs in terms of the amount of work set and the support they need.   Please reassure your child that there will be no sanctions from school if they cannot complete the work set.  We have also asked colleagues to be mindful that some students are feeling overwhelmed and to keep an eye on the amount of work being set.

For most students in Years 7 to Year 10, 2 to 3 hours of school work per day will be sufficient.  We need to bear in mind that independent learning is more intensive than lesson time and the rest of the day could be used to be active, get fresh air when they can, have some time away from screens, be creative, cook , play and chat with friends and family.  Older students will be able to focus for longer periods.  If your child has any concerns about their school work, please encourage them to share this with their form tutor (who will be making contact every fortnight) or their subject teachers.  If it is more urgent, please contact your child's pastoral manager:

Google Classroom

Students will be increasingly set work via Google Classroom over the coming weeks.  You will still receive a message on MILK informing you of the work set, but we believe a move towards Google Classroom works better than email for collecting the work and organising the work completed by your children.
