Dear Parents and Carers...
Important information around Covid and the end of term
Dear Parents and Carers,
Start of Term arrangements and On-Site Covid Testing
Once again, we have been asked by the Department of Education to provide LFD testing for students in school at the start of term. This means a delayed start for some students.
If consent has been provided previously, we will continue to use the same consent forms and students will be invited to take part in the testing. However, if you would like to change your consent, please email enquiries@silverdale.chorustrust.org by the end of Thursday 15 December.
Please find below the testing schedule for the return to school on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th January.
Tuesday 4th January
Y13, Y11 & Y12 should arrive at their allocated time to the back of the sports hall for testing. They will then move to the main hall and wait, socially distanced for 15 minutes. Once the test has been confirmed as negative, they can then proceed to their normal timetabled lessons. Students who do not have consent to be tested should arrive at the allotted time and go straight to their lesson.
Y10 & Y7s should arrive at their allocated times and then head straight home after the test.
Y8 and Y9s should stay at home.
Wednesday 5th January
Y13, Y12, Y11, Y10 & Y7 should arrive to school at the normal time and go straight to form.
Y9 & Y8 should arrive at their allocated time to the back of the sports hall for testing. They will then move to the main hall and wait, socially distanced for 15 minutes. Once the test has been confirmed as negative, they can then proceed to their normal timetabled lessons.
If any student tests positive, then the student and parents/carers will be informed. Their household then be required to follow current isolation and testing guidance.

Y11 Parents' Evening
The Y11 Parents evening is going to be held virtually on the calendared date of Thursday 13th January 2022. Further details on this event will be shared next week.
Christmas Lunch – Thursday 16th December
Taylor Shaw will be providing a traditional Christmas lunch including turkey and all the trimmings for students having a school lunch.
Face Coverings
A plea to remind your children to bring a face covering to school and carry a spare in their bag. We are currently providing many students with disposable face masks every day; this is both costly and detrimental to the environment. If you are able to contribute to the cost of these masks, there is a £5 optional contribution on ParentPay. Many thanks for the contributions already received.
Covid Update
In the week 3rd – 10th December 2021, nine students (one Y7, one Y8, two Y9s, one Y10, two Y11s, two Y12s) tested positive for Covid.
Wishing you and your families a Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year,
Sarah Sims
