Lockdown arrangements
Published on 05/01/21
Dear students and parents/carers
After the Prime Minister’s announcement about a national lockdown last night, I are confirming that plans for the next couple of weeks remain unchanged for those working remotely. Year 11 and Year 13 students will also work remotely, rather than coming in next week. This means that all students will work remotely, except any key worker and vulnerable children in school.
Vocational public exams (BTECs and iMedia) will go ahead as planned and students must come into school for these exams.
With regards to exams, the DFE have stated “In these circumstances, we do not think it is possible for exams to go ahead fairly this summer. The Secretary of State for Education will be asking Ofqual to consult rapidly on an approach for alternative arrangements that will allow students to progress fairly.” We fully appreciate this is a difficult and uncertain time for all our students, but particularly those in Y11 and Y13. We will update you with any further information as soon as possible.
Best wishes,
Sarah Sims
