Timings of the school day (after the first week)
We are shortening the school day because we will be running staggered 30 minute lunchtimes and removing other social times. This is so that we can operate in ‘year group bubbles’ as stated in the Department for Education (DFE) guidance.
In order to keep all our students and staff as safe as possible, the timings of the beginning of the school day will change.
Students will need to arrive at school between 9.15am and 9.30am, and most students will be dismissed between 3.05pm and 3.15pm (there will be a requirement for some Y11, Y12 and Y13 students to stay later on some days; they will be told more about this when they receive their timetables on their first day back).
The DFE are confirming their decision on 11 August when they will reviewing the situation across England. We will provide further information after this, including a video briefing for students.
Please be assured that in all of these matters we will be closely adhering to the DFE guidance.
